UW owes its students and faculty explanations for such aggressive policies and actions.

So they are denying a FOIA request? Given the current state of Canadian political activity this seems about right. Make a policy that makes no sense and reject any questions for rationale or for oversight. There needs to be a complete audit of all institutions and their decision making process with respect to Covid.

They have provided some information relevant to some FOIA requests, but they are deflecting or denying all requests that get at the heart of the decision-making process.

And, yes, this fits perfectly with the more general deranged state of the society.

What other medical decision of an employee required the employer to talk to a lawyer. Your medical is not between you and your doctor, but between your employer and their lawyer. The wholesale social distortion there is a paradigm shift as to what we define a medical decision as.

Very well put. In my conversations with people, this fact tends to be discounted based on claims such as, "But this is an emergency."

There is a "crisis mode" switch in group psychology and it's stuck in the "on" position. Some people are exploiting that for their own purposes. Most others either remain trapped out of fear, or, by now, out of habit.
